Asia Cupis a tournament that is played between Asian countries. In Asian countries includes Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India. The Asia cup is played in both formats of cricket. The Asia cup is men twent20 and one-day international cricket tournament. Asia cup was established by Asian cricket council in 1984. The behind of this cricket event was to promote cricket between Asian countries. Asia cup is known as Micromax Asia cup. Asia cup is sponsored by Micromax mobiles. The Asia cup is administrated by International cricket council and Asian cricket council. The Asia cup is held after two years on a rotational basis. The first Asia cup was played in 1983. The current champion of Asia cup is India.

Asia Cricket Cup

Micromax Asia cricket cup is a tournament for Asia region countries. The Asian countries can participate in this tournament. Asia cup is men’s twenty20 and one-day international tournament. This tournament was founded by Asian cricket council in 1983. The first Asia cup was played in Sharjah in 1984 in the United Arab Emirates. The first tournament was won by India and the Opponent was Sri Lanka.  Asia cup struggles in problems due to strained relations between countries. In 1986 India boycott the Asia cup due to worse relations with Sri Lankan Team. In 1993 whole Asia cup was canceled due to the bad political situation between Pakistan and India.

Sri Lanka was the host of the second edition that was played in 1986. Sri Lanka won the second edition of Asia cup. A most successful team of Asia cup is India and Sri Lanka.  A most successful team of Asia cup is India. They have 6 tournaments including one t20 title and 5 ODIs title. They are also a current champion of Asia cup.  In 2015 after the downsizing of Asia cup ICC announced Asia cup that to be held biannually.

Women’s Cricket World Cup 2016

International cricket council is also promoting cricket in women’s. ICC organized series between different countries of women’s team. ICC also providing events like world cup of both cricket formats. In past women, cricket was managed by International women’s cricket council. ICC and IWCC are merged with each other. ICC women’s cricket world cup 2016 was 5^th event of women’s event. This world cup was hosted by India. The final match of this event was played in Kolkata. The final match was played between West Indies and Australia. First time in history West won the world cup and defeated the strong team against her.

West Indies won this match by 8 wickets. In this world cup, 23 matches were played and participants were 10 in numbers. Player of series was awarded to Stafanie Taylor and most runs scored by Stafanie Taylor. The highest wicket taking bowler was Deandra Dottin; she has taken 9 wickets in overall world cup matches.
